As one of the top China cardboard tube packaging manufacturers and paper tube packaging suppliers, we devote all of our efforts to research and launch more high quality packaging products to global market.
1. Paper tube style
There are mainly three paper tube styles on the market: one-piece (single) paper tube, two-piece (retractable) paper tube, and three-piece (fully retractable) paper tube. No matter which tube style you use, the tube consists of two parts: the tube body and the outer packaging (where the artwork is printed).
According to specific packaging needs, different layers of paper are spirally wound and glued together to obtain different wall thicknesses. For example, a single layer (wall thickness) in wine bottle tube packaging is 1.5mm thick.
2. Paper material for cardboard tube
The paper used to form the tube body is mainly uncoated paper.
Uncoated paper is a kind of paper without additional coating or finish, mainly including cardboard (black/white), kraft paper (white/kraft), gray board.
Among them, the most common paper materials used to form cardboard tubes are black cardboard, white cardboard, brown kraft paper, and gray board (low-grade post-consumer recycled paper).
1) Black cardboard
If the tube packaging is designed to be overall black, black cardboard is the best choice for a strong matte black tube body.
2) Brown kraft paper
When it comes to packaging for cosmetics and personal care products (such as serum, essential oil, supplement pill packaging), brand owners may prefer tube packaging to align it with the image of organic and natural products. In this case, kraft paper will be the best paper material for the cardboard tube.
3) White cardboard
In many other cases, if there is no special requirement, most paper tube bodies are made of white cardboard. The white cardboard is very flexible and can be matched with various graphics and artwork designs to prevent the overall tube packaging from looking weird.
